“This event will involve presentation and discussion of findings from a recently published study involving a collaboration between ReachOut Ireland, the IAUCC and the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention, based on survey results of over 5,000 third-level students. The study explored the help-seeking experiences, preferences and views of students in Ireland, with a focus on e-mental health (using the internet and technology for mental health information and support) and college supports and services.
Data will be presented on students’ attitudes towards help-seeking, where they are most likely to seek help, and their suggestions regarding the provision of information and support. A discussion will subsequently be held with IAUCC members and event attendees, in order to reflect on the findings and suggest potential action points regarding the planning and resourcing of student services and resources”.
